What is a Flip Diving?
When most people hear the term “flip diving”, they often wonder what it’s called. A flip dive is when you perform an extreme, free style dive onto a board that is similar to what you would see in the water. This is called a front end roll and can be performed quite aggressively and with a lot of fun.
If you’ve never experienced one of these, don’t worry. They’re very easy to do and if you’re skilled enough, it can even feel dangerous. There are a couple of different ways that you can perform a flip. The first way is called the undermount. This is where you lie underneath your board with your head dangling out and your body bent forward to allow you to enter the water.
Here’s where things get a little bit trickier. Most riders will lie on their side with both feet on the board with the board between their legs. The rider will then try to kick his or her feet out towards the sky. Once they gain about waist height, they will simply pull up their legs and enter the water. Some people will perform the kick while others will simply push off with their feet and legs in order to enter the water.
If you’re a beginner, the best way to master doing flips is to do them on an old board. This will allow you to see what it’s like to do an extreme board ride first hand. Many riders will first practice on an old board until they can execute the moves smoothly and effortlessly. Once they are comfortable doing flips on an old board, they will be ready to try doing them on a new board.
Another way that riders can get into the water without fully submerging themselves is by performing air rides. These are simply short skydiving rides where you jump off of a short platform onto the water. It is essentially the same idea as doing a vertical dive but on water. Air rides allow riders to test how far they can go underwater before getting completely submerged in the water.
If you’re a more experienced water skater, one thing that you can do to prepare yourself for a Flip Diving event is to go on an extreme water ride. There are various types of water rides that you can participate in, and you should definitely take advantage of them. They will help you improve your skills in the water sport and can also give you a chance to experience how it feels to dive into the water while surrounded by water.
A lot of riders enjoy the excitement of being upside down when doing the Turn Diving maneuver. This will allow them to feel a bit like they are performing an extreme sports routine on water. Since the rider is upside down, he or she won’t be able to read the other riders underneath them. In this case, the rider is forced to follow whatever he or she sees.
So now that you know what a Flip Diving is all about, there are a few things that you need to know if you want to do it yourself. First, you should always try to learn how to do the Turn Diving maneuver in a controlled environment. Don’t do it on an extreme board ride that you’ve never done before. You’ll have too much control of the direction that you’re going if you’re doing it on something that you’ve never tried before. When you’re learning how to do a Flip Diving, make sure you practice on an inflatable board and not in the water. Doing that will prepare your body for the actual extreme maneuver.
